Having worked with the Reading Horizons materials for over six years and researched the effectiveness of Reading Horizons with all types of special learners, it is a pleasure for me to first applaud the work of Charlotte Lockhart and, secondly, (to) strongly encourage teachers of reading to "follow to the letter" the manual, as set forth by Mrs. Lockhart. It works! If you've tried other approaches and failed, or if you doubt the effectiveness of phonics, spend six weeks using the Reading Horizons approach, and watch the reading skills of your adult learners soar.
