Blended Learning Software

Reading Horizons software is the perfect choice for blended learning environments. Our software combines seamlessly with our direct instruction materials, providing you with a fully integrated, highly effective, research-based approach for teaching reading.

Reading Horizons offers two age-appropriate software programs, both of which deliver adaptive, interactive reading instruction:

For students K–3: Reading Horizons Discovery®

For students 4th grade and older: Reading Horizons Elevate®

Reading Horizons Discovery® ›

Reading-Horizons-Discovery-Reading-SoftwareReading Horizons Discovery® interactive software allows students to work at their own pace and receive highly differentiated reading instruction while learning skills that drastically decrease reading difficulties as well as spelling and pronunciation errors. The lessons in the software focus on building many of the foundational reading skills required by the Common Core State Standards. In addition to developing students’ decoding skills, the software helps students transfer these skills to other areas required for reading: vocabulary, spelling, grammar, fluency, and comprehension. Students are assessed after each lesson, chapter, and comprehension exercise to ensure skill proficiency. When a student shows signs of struggle, the software notifies the teacher, reviews instruction, and offers more practice opportunities. Teachers and administrators can view detailed reports that show each student’s performance and progress in the program.

Reading Horizons Elevate® ›

Reading-Passages-for-Older-Struggling-ReadersReading Horizons Elevate® interactive software provides older students and struggling readers with effective instruction that shows step by step exactly what they need to do to learn to read. The software addresses a range of reading deficits through age-appropriate lessons that help students improve their skills in a self-paced and independent way. The software uses data from built-in assessments to continuously adjust the pace and content to meet the needs of each student. When a student shows signs of struggle, the software reviews instruction and offers more practice opportunities; when a student proves proficiency, the software advances to the next skill. Detailed reports allow you to monitor where students are succeeding and where they are struggling so you know exactly what kind of additional instruction or support to provide. Students can access the online version of the program from home for further skill instruction and reinforcement. The software also includes ESL enhancements that make the program more accessible to ESL students.
