January 5, 2016

meaning: done on purpose; deliberate
synonyms: deliberate, intended, planned, purposeful

This is my first time to ever pick a one word theme at the beginning of the year and I have chosen the word intentional!

I want to be more intentional with my:

If I don’t intentionally set aside time for Bible reading, devotion, and prayer, it will not happen. If I don’t set aside time for physical activity and cooking healthy food, I will not reach my health and fitness goals. If I don’t make a budget or think before purchasing something, my financial goals will not be reached. If I don’t think before I do or say something, I might do or say something I will regret or something that doesn’t bring glory to God.

Do I expect to make a plan to do all of these things and execute it flawlessly? No. That’s not being realistic, but by putting forth more of an effort to have a purpose in all that I do and say, I believe I will reach the goals I have set for myself.

There is nothing magical about the turning of the calendar to a new year, even if it feels that way to some. 2016 won’t make us reach our goals. We have to do that ourselves. We must be¬†intentional and consistent!

Here are some of the quotes that are motivating me right now to follow through with my plans.

“The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what we want most for what we want at the moment.” – Unknown

“A small daily task, if it be truly daily, will beat the labors of a spasmodic Hercules.” – Anthony Trollope

“In truth, people can generally make time for what they choose to do; it is not really the time, but the will that is lacking.” – John Lubbock

“At some point you must begin acting like what you want to become.” – Bro. Stan Gleason

“A “woe is me” attitude doesn’t move God, but faith does. ” – Bro. David Beecham, my Pastor

“The grass is greener where you water it.” – Neil Barringham

“Small changes eventually add up to huge results.” – Unkown

I hope these quotes motivate you like they motivated me!

p.s. One of my goals this month is to complete the Whole30. I am currently on day 4 and I will post more about this later this week!
