I’ve had several amazing trainings (and read lots of great books) to help me understand how to help my son the best. The very first training I did was by the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) and I used their methods for teaching him the first couple years. Later on, I used the Rewards program and after that… I didn’t really use a program, but focused on fluency, comprehension, and writing. Overcoming Dyslexia by Sally Shaywitz is a great resource as well. I hope that helps!

So much of what was said in this podcast resonates with me. I would really like to know about how I can specifically help someone struggling with dyslexia. It was mentioned in the podcast that one of you (I’m sorry that I don’t remember which presenter) worked daily with your child to improve his dyslexia to the point he was on grade level in 6th grade. What kind of training can I take to do that too? Thank you very much. I am at the end of my career, but I can’t pretend not to know what I am just learning now and need to learn what I can to help.
