Friendsgiving Recap.

December 1, 2015

I’ve mentioned before that we were hosting our first Friendsgiving this year and I have to say that it was a success. I won’t lie. There may have been an emotional breakdown at one point that involved preparing the turkey. Tears were shed. The laugh-cry came into play. But other than that everything went pretty much as planned.

In case you didn’t see these in a previous post, here were the invitations we sent from JazzHandPaperCo.

I downloaded these printable placemats from Kristin’s blog Taz & Belly. We had a lot of fun coloring these after we ate. I got the festive napkins from Target.

I am definitely not the best at arranging flowers, but I loved the cranberries in the vase.

Everything is almost ready…. the menu was turkey, chicken and dressing (made by a friend), mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and rolls. Basically. all the carbs.

Our friends who were able to make it made it a perfect evening. Katie, Anna, Tony, Michael, Justin, Heather, and Kelsey were our guests. A few of them surprised me with Starbucks when they arrived which obviously means they get invited again next year. 😉

Dessert options were strawberry pie, mini apple pies or caramel pie (brought by Kelsey).

A couple more group photos and yes, that’s my silly husband sideways in the second one.

Overall, it was a fun night finished by watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles, which was Jonathon’s choice since it takes place around Thanksgiving. It was a lot of work, but completely worth it. And I am definitely hopeful that there will be a round 2 next year.
