Five Finds Friday // 3

December 4, 2015

I’m back for another round of Five Finds Friday. Make sure to check out Taylor and Holly’s finds.

Jon and I have been watching Friends on Netflix. For the first time. I’m not sure why it has taken me this long to watch it, but it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. We are on season 2 and so far Chandler is our favorite.FRIENDS SEASON 1

I’ve been wanting a new black skirt and I’ve got my eyes on this one. Maybe I’ll buy it in a few weeks with Christmas money?

To be honest, it has been a week of eating out, but I did cook for Friendsgiving last week. One of the things I made was strawberry pie and it is seriously the easiest recipe ever.IMG_7615

1 deep dish pie crust
1 13.5 oz. container of Marzetti glaze for strawberries

  1. Cook the pie crust.
  2. After the pie crust cools, pour in cut up strawberries.
  3. Spread the Marzetti glaze on top of the strawberries.

Done. Easy as pie. Pun intended. (I apologize for how corny that was.)

I mentioned before that I’m currently part of a group of ladies that are reading the book, Draw The Circle by Mark Batterson. It has 40 days of devotionals about prayer and it is awesome. We have a group on Facebook where anyone can share and what some of these ladies have written has touched me just as much as the book has. Here’s one of my favorites posts so far from Peggy.

“Sow the seed! Oh, how my heart resonated with this chapter today. There have been so many times I’ve prayed prayers for people I love very much that have not been answered. Sometimes at my lowest, I despair and think, “I must be praying wrong.” or “I’m not close enough to God to get my prayers answered.” …. But just as the Carob tree may not bear fruit for 70 years after it is planted, so are our prayers sometimes. “Each prayer takes on an eternal life of its own.” And though my prayers may not be answered in my lifetime, they are there in Heaven waiting to be answered! “We worry about outcomes when we should worry about inputs.” We do our job and let God do His…in HIS time. We are the Sower – that’s our responsibility. God gives the increase! Thank you, Jesus, for this revelation today! It was just what I needed.”

And I think we all need that reminder sometimes.

Okay, I don’t even like Kobe Bryant at all and the letter he wrote about his retirement still made me a little emotional. If you like sports at all, you should read it.

I hope you guys have a blessed weekend! I’m so excited because I am watching some of my best friends run the St. Jude Memphis Marathon tomorrow. I am so proud of them. I will post pictures next week.
