BLOG-TEMBER Day 3: Summer Favorites

September 3, 2016

Today’s prompt is to share a list of favorites from this summer. It’s crazy that summer is coming to a close. Labor Day weekend always feels like the bridge between summer and fall to me. It’s one fun-filled, long weekend summer send-off. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer. But by the end of August each year, I’m ready to say goodbye to hot, humid Southern summer days and hello to cooler weather, sweater wearing, pumpkin spice latte drinking, and football watching.

Here are 5 of my favorite things that happened this summer.

1. Anniversary trip to Chicago.
We celebrated our second anniversary over Memorial Day weekend in Chicago. We both had never been to Chicago before and we both loved it there!  We saw a few of the main tourist attractions, ate A LOT of good food, and shopped. It was a quick trip since we both had to be back at work on Tuesday, but we had a wonderful time.

2. Camp.

One of my favorite places is Camp Lake Benson. I went to camp there from the time I was 9 until I was 18. I’ve been a counselor a few times since then and I was so glad I got to go this year. Pictured are the counselors and campers from my church that were there for the first half of the week.

3.Celebrating Jonathon’s Birthday.

We celebrated Jon’s 29th birthday in July. We had dinner with friends at one of his favorite places, Rock ‘n’ Dough Pizza, and went home and watched a movie on Netflix.

4. London and Paris!

In mid-July, we went to London and Paris with my parents and brother. I still want to do a full recap of this trip and maybe I will finally get around to it once blog-tember is over. When I go on trips like these, I have moments where I can’t believe that I’m standing where I’m standing. I’m really thankful for the opportunity to go to places like these.

5. My parents got a pool.

I kept joking with my mom that this was the best thing that had ever happened to me. But seriously it really has been so much fun and we should still get to use it for a few more weeks.

I hope all of you have had a great summer!
