I can’t believe today is the last day of August! I do love Summer, but I’m ready to welcome Fall with open arms. I’m ready for pumpkin spice everything, football, and cooler weather.
Starting tomorrow I plan to participate in the blog-tember challenge that is hosted by Bailey at Brave Love Blog. Basically, she has provided writing prompts for every day in September. If you want to find out more, go here. I doubt that I will participate every day, but I’m going to try to do at least half the month. I’m so excited about it!
Okay, so I have been VERY excited about this. I knew it would be very different from the first 7 books simply because it was written as a play and because J.K. Rowling didn’t write it by herself. However, I still really enjoyed it. I mean it’s another Harry Potter story so I was pretty much destined to love it. I gave this one 4/5 stars. I couldn’t give it a 5 because it can’t measure up to the original series.
The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
I honestly had never heard of this one, but I saw it on a list of classics and it captured my interest. This books is from 1984 and is a coming-of-age novel. The book is made up of vignettes telling the story of Esperanza. She is growing up in poverty and is determined to make a better life for herself one day. I read this one in less than 24 hours.
I said in my last review that I would probably finish the last book of the 5th wave trilogy this month but I didn’t. I’m actually in the middle of that one and three other books right now, so maybe I’ll get more read in September. Be looking for all the fun blog-tember posts this coming month!
